Life experiences of the best Doctor I ever had

This book shows why he was the best Doctor I have ever known. His compassion, knowledge, talent, decency, and experience are displayed in his fantastic life story in medicine. His service to his Country and to his patients has been outstanding, and his dedication and compassion for his patients is well shown throughout the book. It is amazing the life he has lived, and the care he has given and shown to his patients, both in the military and in private practice. I could not put the book down, and finished it in one sitting. I am proud to have known him and been his patient; I will miss seeing him with his great personality, and concern he showed to me, now that he is retired. His previous life in the Seals (Six Days of Impossible) is also an excellent read. Enjoy the retirement; you have earned it.

A great book about a unique physician’s journey

This is a great book about a unique physician and his improbable, patriotic journey as a Navy SEAL, physician (much later in life), medical officer for the Delta Force, and later, a civilian family practice physician. Dr Adams has a pleasant, easily accessible narrative style, and his stories of both military and medical service are compelling. He overcame many obstacles to become a physician at age 40, and he was able to use his knowledge to serve our nation in fine ways. Special Forces medical personnel have an ethos which Dr Adams embodies —- hard work, training, and patriotism, as well as mooch and travel light! This book will appeal to physicians, medical students, military personnel, and general readers. Congratulations to Dr Adams for his fine book and his service.

Awesome read

I recently ordered "Swords and Saints" a book by Robert Adams M.D. His first release "Six Days of Impossible" a personal account of Hell Week that our Navy Seals must endure to graduate was spell bounding. Swords and Saints was equally well written though a completely different genre. Dr. Adams carries you through his medical career from a Delta Force Surgeon to private practice in North Carolina. He details specific cases, in a language that I could understand. A must read.
